Canners know that every tiny step matters for successful canning results. This handy tool helps with you two important canning steps.
Pop those bubbles! This bubble remover and measurer is used while canning to remove air bubbles before sealing jars.
To make sure that air bubbles have not been trapped inside the jar, run your bubble popper around the edges of the jar, gently shifting the food, so that any trapped air is released.
After the air bubbles have been removed, more liquid may need to be added to the jar to ensure proper head space.
Head space matters! Find convenient measure marks on the end of our bubble popper for measuring the head space in your jars to avoid overfilling.
Jar lids must form a tight vacuum seal. That's why it's necessary to allow the proper head space, according to recipe processing directions. The correct amount of head space allows the extra air to be removed during processing and a tight vacuum seal to formed.
Our measurer is marked for measuring: 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch and 1 inch of headspace.
Tool measures: 9″ x 1.25″ x .125″ / 23cm x 3cm x .3cm
